New tattoo needs answers.?

Just got a new tattoo today but the guy who did it didn't cover it up when he was done. Is that okay? Will something go wrong with my tattoo? There was also this slimy stuff coming out and little bumps. I cleaned it and put a&d on it. Is this something I should be worried about?
