What's it like to get your braces off?!?

So! I'm getting my braces off June 14th JUST in time for summer <3 I went to the orthodontist yesterday and they took impressions for my retainer (I got them early since I'm getting metal) And I'm planning to get zebra printed retainer ;) Yeah...I'm cool <3 (The lady said that was bad ***...her words) And I was just wondering what's it like to get them off..like while getting them off, do they hurt after, how do they feel? Etc. My sister said when she got hers off it was slimy and that her teeth felt huge...since you're so used to having your lips touching tiny metal pieces not actual teeth.
