Is there a for sure way to know if you are ovulating?

I had the paraguard iud in for a little over 2 years. Well after I got it taken out I wasnt having periods on my own. I went to the doc and they said I had pcos I dont think real bad though. Well anyways they put me on medroxyprogesterone to have periods. Well I was supposed to take it for 15 days in may but I only took 3 or 4 like every other day cause I am horrible at taking medication well anyways on the 21st I had a period on my own I think thats what the nurse told me anyways. The period lasted 7 whole days and was extremely heavy I think because of the fact I hadn't had a period for like 4 or 5 months. Anyways I have no idea how long my cycle is so I just went by the 28 day cycle. I had sex a few different times between the 1st and the 5th of june. So Here Is My Question? I figured since I started on my own then maybe I ovulated but I was wondering is there anyway to be for sure if your ovulating. I dont get that slimy stretchy discharge that everyone talks about? And when I did the ovulation test it kept saying positive several days in a row so I didnt know what to believe. I really am thinking about finding a new ob for several reasons but even if I am over weight would that clomid medication help me or birth control pills instead of having me keep taking medroxyprogestersone every two months?
