Does anybody know what this discharge could be?

I was on my period around two weeks ago and I am totally off of it. I was taking a bath this morning and I saw something in the water. I looked at it and picked it up and it was about two inches long and was reddish in color and mucousy and slimy. I was horrified and grossed out at the same time. Do you know what it could be?
